The Morris Area Freewheelers Bicycle Club is an all volunteer organization dedicated to promoting all aspects of group road cycling.

We offer about 1100 scheduled and ad-hoc rides at various paces, all year long, throughout Northwestern New Jersey with some rides in Pennsylvania, New York State and Manhattan.  Cue sheets are handed out at the beginning of each ride.  You can almost always find a group ride that matches your biking skills.

Our membership is comprised of over 650 adults ranging in age from 18 to 83+.  Club members primarily reside in the following New Jersey counties:  Morris,  Sussex, Hunterdon, Essex, Somerset, Warren, Union, and Passaic. We offer six social events per year that are informative and a lot of fun.

We have developed cue sheets for over 500 distinct tours, each beginning from one of 25+ geographically diverse starting points. The paces range from beginning (Casual) to very fast (A-pace).  In addition, we sponsor multi-day special event rides to places such as Lake George, Cape May and others.

We have at least three to five rides each Saturday and Sunday April through November. In addition, we offer Monday, Wednesday, Friday morning rides year round and Tuesday/Thursday evening rides between April and September. Rides vary in length from 15 to 100+ miles, and have varying terrains and paces.  Also, ad-hoc rides are frequently added to the schedule.  The web ride schedule is always 100% up-to-date.

Club social events included in your membership dues are:

.    Spring and Fall picnics
.    Pizza party for members ride leaders and other volunteers
.    Fall Annual meeting with guest speakers
.    Winter Holiday Party
.    Winter pre-season meeting

At these events, drawings are held for biking accessories and gift certificates valid at sponsoring bike shops.

The club newsletter is published and available on the club's website 10 times year with the ride schedule and many other items of interest. The newsletter lists bicycle shop sponsors who offer discounts to members. It includes member classified ads, articles written by members, general info, etc.

Members are permitted to place for-sale ads in the newsletter or on our club website Forums.

Minors (under 18) are allowed on rides provided they are accompanied by a member parent or guardian, who must stay with them during the ride.
