Formed in 1982, the Morris Area Freewheelers Bicycle Club is an all volunteer organization dedicated to promoting all aspects of group road cycling. We offer about 1400 scheduled and ad-hoc rides at various paces, all year long, throughout Northwestern New Jersey with some rides into Pennsylvania, New York State and Manhattan. We are the organizers of the Revolutionary Ramble set to run again on 6/12/2010. We have six social events per year that are informative and a lot of fun. Anyone unsure about joining is welcome as a guest for a ride. Give us a try! Membership Our membership is comprised of over 650 adults ranging in age from 18 to 84+. Club members primarily reside in the following New Jersey counties: Morris, Sussex, Hunterdon, Essex, Somerset, Warren, Union, and Passaic. Membership is open to anyone at least 18 years old. Tours
We have developed cue sheets for over 500 distinct tours, each beginning from one of 25+ geographically diverse starting points. Tours vary in length from 15 to 100+ miles, and have varying terrains from flat to very challenging.
Scheduled Rides
We schedule morning rides five days per week (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday) year round. In addition, we offer Tuesday and Thursday evening rides between April and September. Ad-hoc rides are frequently added to the schedule. The paces range from beginning (Casual) to very fast (A-pace). The web ride schedule is always 100% up-to-date and our Ride Leaders hand out cue sheets at the beginning of each ride.
We also sponsor special multi-day event rides to places such as Lake George, Cape May and others. You can almost always find a scheduled group ride that matches your biking skills. Click on Ride Schedule, above, for more on pace and terrain definitions. Minors (under 18) are allowed on rides provided they are accompanied by a member parent or guardian, who must stay with them during the ride.

Club social events included in your membership dues are:
. Two Picnics, Spring and Fall . Pizza Party for active Ride Leaders and Other Volunteers . Fall Annual Meeting with Guest speakers . Winter Holiday Party . Spring Ride Season Kickoff Meeting
